(10 photos of a 1966 Springtime Yellow Mustang Anniversary Fastback) "Best of Show", at least that's how we voted for this almost all original Springtime Yellow 1966 Millionth Edition Mustang fastback at the 2010 Port Angeles Washington Mustang car show. This car is owned by Jack and Pat Davis of Oregon and was our Attitude Of The Week for the week of May 9th, 2010. Most of this car is original including its amazing Springtime Yellow exterior paint. The few items replaced are seat covers, carpet, driver side door panel, trunk mat, and radiator.
(7 photos of a 1966 Anniversary Gold Mustang Anniversary Hardtop) Super rare 1,000,000th Anniversary Edition 1966 Mustang hardtop owned by Paul Axiaq from Millbrae, California. It still has it's original 289ci V8 engine. Paul tells us more,
"You've heard about the 1966 Gold Edition Millionth Anniversary Mustangs that were built to commemorate the one-millionth-sales success in 1966. Well they only made about 50 of them so maybe not. They made about 50 of these and there are only 5 known to exist today!
In 1966, about 50 special ordered Anniversary Gold Mustangs were built as part of the Millionth Mustang Anniversary, special order number 1111 and sent to dealerships across the nation. Of the few that have been found, the common features include that they are all hardtops and have C-code 289ci 2-barrel V8 engine, pony interior, steel styled wheels, and special Anniversary Gold paint. There was no paint code for this particular vehicle and they were all made on March 29, 1966.
This car was in two magazines: The June 2009 issue of Cars & Parts, and the July 2009 issue of Mustang Monthly. The original owner says this car was the first unit produced, and that it had been on promotional display as Metke Ford in Bellevue Washington. 'Treasure Chest' keys were mailed to area residents - inside the dealership's chest were keys to the Gold Mustang. The owner's father-in-law stopped by the Ford place while his wife went shopping for a dress: the car was his. The whole story was told in the Seattle Times and Seattle Post Intelligencer. It has been in storage since 1985 by the original owner.
I purchased the car in June of 2009. The car is now stored in my garage where it has been since I purchased it. I have a copy of the original owner's title in Washington. It has a documented 53,987 original miles."

"My Grandpa and Grandma, Joe & Mary Jane McCartney, bought this car from an Okla City, Okla dealer off the show room floor. They owned McCartney Auto Service in Tulsa, OK. It was gave to me in a will, because I kept my first car that I still have - a 1967 Stang."
(5 photos of a 1966 Mustang Millionth Anniversary Sale Advertisement) Mustang zooms past its first million ...starts on its second with a Special Mustang Sale! This is a corporate Ford ad we found in the March 30th, 1966 edition of The Evening Standard newspaper of Uniontown, Pennsylvania. It says that for 30 days you can get a specially priced Mustang with wire-styled wheels, accent paint stripe, chrome air cleaner, and center console. The 200ci in-line 6 cylinder or V8 was available under the hood.

(7 photos of a 1967 Silver Mustang Super Valu Silver Anniversary Hardtop Advertisement) This is a series of advertisements we found for a Super Valu Silver Anniversary Mustang sweepstakes which featured 7 silver 1967 Mustangs; and 100, 16 inch scale, electric, model Mustangs. Judging from the advertisement and the 1967 Mustang colors, we believe all 7 Mustangs were silver frost and were hardtops. At the time, Super Valu was mainly in the upper Midwest. This ad was placed by Hood's Super Valu in the January 17th, 1967 edition of the Algona Upper Des Moines newspaper of Algona, Iowa. Who won these Mustang? (3 photos of a 1967 Mustang Anniversary Advertisement) This is an advertisement for the 1967 Third Birthday Special Mustang for Canada. Several dealers participated and featured white side wall tires, de luxe wheel covers, wheel lip moldings, one of three special colors (Special T-Bird Diamond Green, Candyapple Red, or Springtime Yellow), rocker panel mouldings, door edge guards, louvered GT hood with turn-signal indicators, and knitted vinyl interior. This is part of an ad placed by Coopers Ford of Baie d'Urfe in the March 16, 1967 edition of the South Shore News of Pierrefonds (now part of Montreal), Quebec, Canada. (10 photos of a 1975 Medium Chestnut Orange Mustang Anniversary Coupe) Raise your hand if you've ever seen (or heard of) this one. It's a 1975 Mustang II 50th Anniversary Mexican built coupe. It was built at the Ford assembly plant in Mexico and commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the Mexican built Ford cars. They have a dash plaque that says '1925-1975 Modelo Aniversario' then a ID number of 171. This car has had a repaint and the seats and headliner were redone. The hood scoop may be added. Looking around the net, Ford Mexico offered a similar Anniversary edition on each of their models. I found an LTD with the same exterior/interior colors and dash plaque. (8 photos of a 1984 Oxford White Mustang GT Anniversary Convertible) Oxford White 1984 Mustang GT350 with the largest engine offered in 1984; a 175hp (at 4000rpm), 5.0 liter (302 cubic inch), 4 barrel, high output V8. The special model commemorated the Mustang's 20th anniversary and only came in Oxford White. No-one at Ford got Shelby's permission to use the "GT350" name. Shelby was working at the time with the inventor of the Mustang, Lee Iacocca at Chrysler, sued Ford for this infringement. This car has 1991+ five spoke wheels.

(5 photos of a 1984 Red Mustang GT Anniversary Fastback) Chuck Tuttle send us photos of his #1374 1984 Mustang GT-350 project. The body will be painted 2010 Cadillac Black Cherry with the frame in dark metal flake gray. Chuck tells us more, "It is being turned into a street strip terror. Power comes from two 63mm T3/4 turbos on a well prepped 1990 stock bore 302. Aiding the induction is a C/S Carb blow thru setup. Mallory and Accecel supply the fire. Handling the teeth jarring shifts is a Performance automatic with hardened shafts plus a Trans brake. Coupling the power is a Continental 4,500 rpm stall. This is all held in place with front and mid engine plates. The full channel frame keeps things from twisting to the 4-link narrowed 9 inch coil over rear end. Tube K-member, steering, and front coil overs keep her light on the front end. When it comes to stopping, disc all the way around by Strange Bros. To keep me safe, a 10-point chrome molly cage is in place. Aero motive A1000 and a Holly Blue supply the GO juice." Chuck also owns a 1988 Mustang LX 5.0L convertible and his wife has a
1964 Mustang hardtop.

(1 photo of a 1990 Deep Emerald Green Mustang GT Anniversary Convertible) This Deep Emerald Green 1990 Mustang GT Anniversary convertible is owned by Steve Poiry of New Haven, Indiana. Steve says, I have owned the car since October of 2007. Since then I changed the wheels and tires. However, I kept the original wheels and tires as the car only had 4000 miles on it when I bought it. These 35th Anniversary Mustangs are sometimes called a 7-UP car because 30 of these were to be given away by the 7-UP Bottling Company as a promotional item. These cars actually started life at the ford factory as coupes! They were converted to convertibles.
(6 photos of a 1990 Deep Emerald Green Mustang Anniversary Convertible) This is a Special Edition 1990 Deep Emerald Green Mustang LX convertible. This particular one is sometimes called a 7-UP car because 30 of these were to be given away by the 7-UP Bottling Company as a promotional item. These cars actually started life at the ford factory as coupes! They were converted to convertibles. The work was done by Car & Concepts in St. Louis, Missouri. The 7-Up contest never materialized but 4103 of these special Mustangs were built. 2743 had automatic transmissions and 261 of them were exported out of the country.
(8 photos of a 1990 Deep Emerald Green Mustang Anniversary Convertible) Deep Emerald Green 1990 Mustang LX 25th Anniversary convertible with a 225hp (at 4200rpm), 302 cubic inch (5.0 liter), electronic fuel injected, high-output, V8 engine. 4103 of these commemorative edition LX convertibles where made with white interiors, color match side molding (standard after 1992), 16-spoke wheels from the GT, the larger E-code V8 engine, and commemorative badges. With less than 5000 miles on this care, it is all original except for a new battery and air filter; these are even the original P225/60VR-15 tires (with a little ArmorAll of course).
(1 photo of a 1990 Emerald Green Mustang 25th Anniversary 7-UP Convertible) This is Leo Landry's 1990 25th Anniversary Edition Mustang. Leo adds, "I picked up at an auction trying to buy a guitar. This came up and I instantly remembered my '88 and had to have it! It had 127kms (about 70 miles) on it. I did complete fluid change and now drive it every weekend!
(7 photos of a 1990 Deep Emerald Green Saleen Anniversary Mustang Convertible) Here is an unusual one. It's a Deep Emerald Green 1990 Mustang Saleen 7-Up limited edition convertible. Saleen factor serial number 141. Only 12 Deep Emerald Green 7-Up Mustangs were converted to Saleens. The Cobra R hood and black convertible top were added by an owner. Deep Emerald Green was exclusive to these limited edition cars. They were also known as 25th Mustang Anniversary models. These cars actually started life at the ford factory as coupes even though their model code is still P44 for Mustang LX convertible.

Many 1989 and 1990 Mustangs were designated as 25th Anniversary Mustangs. Look for the special badge on the dash. This car was photographed at the 2010 Mustang car show in Port Angeles, Washington. It was a little rainy, so the top is up.
(6 photos of a 1999 Silver Mustang GT Anniversary Coupe) This is a Limited Edition 35th Anniversary 1999 Mustang GT coupe. Ford only produced 4,628 of these Limited Edition 35th Anniversary GTs in 1999. This car was given features of the 2000 Mustang GT - such as the raised hood scoop, side scoops and raised spoiler. You could only get this Limited Edition car in red, black, silver, or white.
