Bright Red 1973 Mustang convertible from Dirk Howard from Gilbert, Arizona. It has the original 351ci V8 engine and an automatic transmission. This is our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting April 28, 2013. Dirk tells us, "It was a St. Louis MO rust bucket. I saw it restored on the internet for sale. Because it was kept stock, I had to buy it. It was a frame-off restore to fix a log of problems, mainly RUST. It has a 351C 2V engine, FMX transmission, Ram Air, 3.25:1 traction lock rear end, air conditioning, upgrades to disk brakes on front, slotted aluminum wheels, and stripes. The engine was overhauled and bored 030. The hood had factory flat black stripes. I decided to paint the stripes white. This car has been to several concourse shows and was never docked points for the hood being white. This Mustang has had it's picture taken with John Force, Miss Arizona, and even won a Chick Magnet award at a local car show. The Chick Magnet Award that was voted by a high school cheer leader squad. That is the most treasured award because they were not car buffs but people who really liked the car for what is is, a real good looking car!"

The Fun Run has been an international event for several years with Mustang and Camaro clubs coming from Germany and France. Last year where were over 800 cars registered for the three day event where you get to travel the longest continuous part of Route 66, about 180 miles."

This is an magazine advertisement for the 1973 Mach-1 Mustang. Not sure what the tennis guy is suppose to mean. The car has a set of Forged Aluminum wheels with white wall tires. The ad starts off, "What makes Mustang different is the way it looks, handles, and makes you feel."

For a base level 1973 Mustang convertible, this is a great looking car. It has Magnum 500 wheels, color matched side mirrors, its original high back sport interior, and an F-code 302ci 2V V8 engine. I photographed this car at the 2010 Mustang car show in Port Angeles, Washington. That's a Medium Copper 73 Mustang sportsroof next door.
