This year was the 40th anniversary of the Mustang which is commemorated in the special fender badge. This car is missing its honeycomb style front grille, but I think that was on purpose.

"This car was purchased new by us on July 19th, 2004. After much research, we found there were only 408 Mustang GT convertibles produced in Competition Orange - 171 automatics and 231 standards. After all the years of ownership and 92,000 Kilometers (55,000 miles), the car still wins awards at car shows in the stock category. The only modifications have been a Mach 1 chin spoiler, a light bar and a K&N Cold Air intake system. We still get many looks from people due to the color however now they are also impressed with the condition of a car which is this old and driven this much. The car has never seen snow or a gravel road."

The 40th anniversary trim package was available for both the V6 and GT in convertible or coupe and included Arizona Beige (silver) dual hood and trunk stripes; matching rocker stripes; upgraded wheels; and a deluxe parchment interior with painted center console surrounds, metallic gray shifter bezel and door lock knobs, shift boot trim, and brushed aluminum pedals. Crimson Red was exclusive to this trim package but you could also get it with black and white.
