Let's decode it: 65A hardtop body style, blank color code indicates a special order paint, 5 factory blacked out hood, 02D assembled on the 2nd of April 1968, 15 ordered in the Newark area, 5093 special order number, 2 2.79:1 rear axle ratio, and W automatic transmission.

Royal Maroon 1968 Mustang hardtop owned by Jeff Driver from McKinleyville, California. Under the hood is it's original 289ci V8 engine. Jeff tells us, "I found it on Craigslist June 2011 as a fixer. All of the power train and suspension had been done but everything else needed repair or replacement. I did it all myself except for the paint."

This is a Sunlit Gold 1968 Mustang fastback. It has the 390-4v V8 engine (S code), black knitted seats with a standard front bench (8A code), 3.25 Equa-Lok locking axle ratio (G code), and the four-speed manual transmission (5-code). Other original options include the black paint stripe, sport deck rear seat, and wheel covers.

Do you see anything unusual in this interior? It has a bench seat. Not many Mustangs were ordered with a front bench seat.
