(9 photos of a 1968 Acapulco Blue Mustang Shelby GT-350 Fastback) Acapulco Blue 1968 Shelby GT-350 fastback owned by Denny Headley from Illinois. This was our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting April 18, 2010. The car originally Lime Green, then painted white, then sat in a field for many years rotting away. The car was rescued from the field and restored. These photos were taken at the 7th Annual Main Street Fight Against Multiple Sclerosis Car Show held in Princeville, Illinois.


(3 photos of a 1968 Raven Black Mustang Fastback) This 1968 Mustang still has it's original 428 Cobra Jet engine. Other things have changed since 1968. It was Lime Gold in color, with an automatic C-6 transmission and 3.50 rear end. It is now black with a 4.86 rear. The C-6 transmission is still there but add an 8-inch Coan converter with 5500 stall, manual reverse shift valve body, and a Winters shifter.

(13 photos of a 1968 Lime Gold Green Mustang GT California Special Hardtop) This Lime Gold 1968 Mustang GT California Special hardtop was our Attitude Of The Week for December 1st, 2007. The California Special options group included a Shelby style decklid with a spoiler, unique taillights, and a blacked-out grille with out Mustang identification. In the CS option the GT was purposely missing from the normal GT wheelcovers. A similar option package was available in Colorado called the High Country Special.

Scott explains, "I bought it in 1988. In 2006 my daughter turned 16. I had it painted original Ford Passionate Pink, and gave it to her for her birthday."

(3 photos of a 1968 Flower Power Red Orange Mustang Rainbow Of Colors Convertible) This is a Flower Power Red 1968 Rainbow Of Colors Mustang convertible. It is owned by Don Croft. This was our featured Attitude Of The Week for the week starting January 30, 2011. The Rainbow Of Colors promotion ran on the west coast on 1968 and 1969 Mustangs. They featured special paint offerings in all colors of the rainbow. This one was sold new at Highland Park Motors Inc. in Los Angeles, California. Don tells us, "I bought it back in 2004, and was told by the previous owner it was 'Grabber Orange'. I knew at the time this wasn't correct as Grabber Orange was a '69 color, and bit lighter than the shade of my Mustang. I had wondered since about the correct color, until last year when I stumbled onto your website, which encouraged me to run the Marty Report..." Besides the special order paint, the Marty Report listed the following options: 289-2V Engine, Parchment Power Top w/ Glass Backlite, C-4 Cruise-O-Matic Transmission, F70X14 Wide Oval Tires, White Sidewall Nylon Tires, Air Conditioner - Selectaire, AM/8-Track Stereo Radio, and Tinted Glass

Lyndon Hartz had it on display at the 8th Annual Main Street Fight Against Multiple Sclerosis Car Show in Princeville, Illinois. He drag races it! It has a roll cage, a turbo charged 302ci V8, and an automatic transmission. Last year he ran the quarter mile at 11.25 seconds and 121 miles per hour.

Sometimes called a Shelby GT 500E, the Eleanor is inspired from the Nicolas Cage, 2000 movie Gone in 60 seconds, where a 1967 Shelby GT-500 was modified with a body kit, a billet grille, side exhaust, and custom wheels from PS Engineering, in gray with black Shelby stripes.


(8 photos of a 1968 Cardinal Red Mustang Cardinal Edition Hardtop) This is a special Cardinal Edition 1968 Mustang. A limited number of these were built for Virginia and North Carolina areas. The Cardinal is the state bird of Virginia. They are all hardtops and came with Cardinal emblems, flip-open chromed gas cap, black interior, black side "C" stripe, wheel lip moldings, wheel covers, 200ci inline six cylinder engine, and special paint. The Cardinal Red paint is actually Candyapple Red, a standard 1968 Mustang paint.

The door data tag of this car reads: 63A 2+2 fastback with standard interior, W Meadowlark Yellow exterior paint, 2A black crinkle vinyl and black kiwi vinyl standard interior, 18U assembled on July 18th, 1968, 53 ordered in the Kansas City area, 7 with a 3.25:1 conventional rear axle, and U C6 automatic transmission.

I got it in the summer after high school. Working on it little by little. I've had it for some three years now. Thinking about painting it Midnight Blue."

It has a C-code 302 4V V8 engine with tri-y headers feeding dual Flowmaster mufflers. It has an automatic transmission. Mark adds, "It was imported into Australia January 2010. It was purchased by me September 2010. It's only travelled 3000 miles since full restoration - the last owner (in America) owned the car since 1987. It has GT pack on board but not a factory addition."


(15 photos of a 1968 Medium Blue Mustang Shelby GT-500KR Fastback) Medium Blue 1968 Mustang Shelby GT-500KR fastback in its original paint and a restored 400hp, 428ci, 4 barrel, Ram Air, Cobra Jet, V8 engine. The GT-500 King of the Road was introduced midyear and used Mustang's Cobra Jet engine but modified by Shelby to put out 65 more horse power. This photo is available in two wallpaper sizes; 1024-768 wallpaper and 2048-1536 wallpaper.
