The largest Saleen offered engine is the Saleen modified 351 C-code Cobra R V8. This engine has been further modified with a Vortech V2SQ blower, polished Saleen intake, custom blower hoses and T clamps, Billet accessories, 200A alternator, SVO roller rockers, Moroso TIG welded valve covers, SS dipstick tube, and others.

The 1995 SR Saleen comes with this huge 5.8L V8 with a Vortech supercharger on top. The owner adds,
"I am unable to use full throttle in first, second, or third gears; it explosively spins the huge rear tires and fishtails through 100 mph."

This custom 347ci "stroker" V8 engine was built but Terry Iselin Race Engines and has TRW pistons, hi-performance rods and crank shaft. Other modifications include: Aluminum heads, racing valve train and cam, Edelbrock manifold, 70MM throttle body, MAF, K&N air filter, WSM programmable computer system, MSD 6a ignition, Ford Racing high output coil, Griffin radiator with integral oil cooler, Aeroquip oil lines, Canton road race oil pan, and HPM large tube headers with X pipe and Flowmaster 50 series mufflers.

The is a 5.8 liter (or 351 cubic inch) V8 engine. It is the standard engine in the Saleen S-351. A supercharged version was available as an option.

Take a look at this. It's a special C-code V8 built especially for the Cobra R. This engine is a 5.8L engine that pumps out 300 horsepower. It's a marine block with aluminum pistons, forged steel rods, GT-40 heads and special intake manifolds. This engine has a couple of modifications to the original configuration.
