A quantity of 2000 of the 1996 Mustang Cobras were painted with this special "Mystic" paint which changed colors depending on the light: from purple to green to copper in a bright light. This Mystic color was a $815 option and a bodyshop could purchase the paint for $1000 a gallon (1.5 gallons to paint a Cobra, it was a one coat application).

Recently I had a new white top installed and next will be all new white interior. About 10 years ago I had one just like this but it was a 5-speed and had low mileage on the car. I always loved this color."

"1996 Mystic cobra #242 with 12,675 miles as of 5/8/08. Includes build sheet, window sticker all SVT docs - like predelivery forms and even key code tab. I have installed a SLP Loudmouth exhaust with 3-inch tips with a upper X-pipe, 17-inch chrome Cobra R wheels (10" in rear 8" in the front) with new Nitto 555 Extreme tires, 4.10 racing gears, Steeda unidrive pulleys, upper Big Mouth filter with a power pipe, super chip, B&M short shifter, Eibach sport springs, Billet grille, and some interior & under hood billet parts. Always runs Amzoil synthetic oils. I have all original parts excluding tires and exhaust. It includes full car cover. This car runs perfect, its always garage kept, and in perfect condition not a scratch on it, even the interior smells new inside. You want a bad ride for the $$$, that is noticed everywhere, can be driven anywhere, and bring home the trophies to ...THIS is the car."

Saleen took a GT and added Saleen urethane front fascia, side skirts, rear fascia, and rear wing. It was given a Racecraft suspension which includes Saleen; variable rate front and rear Springs, front struts and bushings, rear shocks, front sway bar and pivot bushings, five spoke wheels, a front and rear high performance wheel alignment, and a tuned chassis. To improve engine performance, Saleen added mufflers, a performance exhaust system, and gave it a performance calibration.

"Car was built in Michigan. 1 of 829 in Bright Tangerine and of those 1 of 51 with black leather and 5-speed transmission. All bolt ons, supercharger to come. 100k miles. List of mods include: BBK throttle body and intake tube; BBK cold air; BBK adjustable fuel pressure regulator; Cobra MAF and injectors; Stage 2 clutch; BBK firewall adjuster; short throw shifter; color matched Hooker comp cage (rollbar); 4.10 rear gears.;Jones racing single chamber mufflers; Catless x pipe; computer calibration for 02 sensors; and Nitto tires DRs in rear."

Which is a GT in V6 trim. It doesn't have the GT spoiler or fog lights. It has the cloth interior of a V6 model. It does have the V8 engine and GT emblems. This package was known as the GTS in 1995 and continued as the 248-A package through 1998.
