Mustang GT
The Mustang GT was back in 1982 as a sport upgrade package which was last offered on 1969 Mustangs. The 1982 GT replaced the previous year's Cobra and Sports package. The 1982 GT came with the newly introduced 157hp 5.0L V8 engine (for manual transmission) or 120hp 4.2L V9 engine (for automatic transmission); twin exhaust pipes; forward facing non-functional hood scoop, 14 inch cast aluminum wheels introduced in 1979; a color matched version of the previous year's Cobra front grille; new front skirts; and were limited to Bright Red, Medium Red, Black or Silver.

1982 Mustang GT hatchback owned by Barbara Foster from Canada. It's painted in a custom blend of Sikkens course metallic silver paint with course metallic charcoal gray stripes. This was our featured Attitude Of The Week for February 10th, 2008. Barbara tells us more, "This car was completely stripped down to bare metal; the entire interior, drivetrain, and suspension all removed and rebuilt in 8 months. The only work contracted out was the spraying of the paint. All the bodywork, engine assembly, installation of entire drivetrain and suspension - including new brake lines, as well as the interior - including a custom made aluminum dash with Auto Meter gauges was completed by my husband and me. I have a Cardomain page that chronicles the entire build of the car, including installation of: Eibach Sportline suspension kit; Baer brakes front and back; installed battle boxes; and new engine and T5Z transmission.
