New for 2021 are the 480hp Mach 1 and the all-electric Mustang Mach E, which come in six performance configurations with RWD and eAWD, standard and extended batteries, and single or dual electric motors. These result in between 266-480hp and 317-634ft-lb of torque. Two battery options allow for ranges between 230 and 305 miles on a charge. The traditional Ecoboost fastback, convertible, GT, and Shelby GT500 Shelby are also offered. Several exterior paint colors are new, such as Grabber Yellow, which is a bright yellow similar to the original 1969 version; a new formulation of Grabber Blue; and new colors of Space White, Star White, Infinite Blue, Dark Matter Gray, Antimatter Blue, Carbonized Gray, Cyber Orange, and the cool Fighter Jet Gray. The California Special is also back on the GT Premium, and there is a California Route 1 package for the all-electric Mach E.

Mach E
New to 2021 is the Mach E (Electric) SUV. For North America, there are five models: (1) the entry level, standard range, rear or all wheel drive Select; (2) the glass roof and B&O sound system, standard or extended range, rear or all wheel drive Premium; (3) the uniquely badged, extended range, all wheel drive California Route 1; (4) the upgraded, extended range, all wheel drive First Edition; and (5) the performance electric dual motor, extended range, all wheel drive GT. There is also a GT Performance Edition with increased torque.

2.3L High Performance
The 2021 2.3L High Performance package for the 4-cylinder Mustang adds Mustang GT brakes, and GT Performance Package aerodynamics and suspension components to push the horsepower to 330.

Mustang GT
The 2021 Mustang GT follows the previous year with a 460hp V8 under the hood, 3:55 limited slip rear axle, engine oil coiler, larger brakes, 5.0L fender badge, dual exhaust with quad tips, GT rear badge, LED fog laps, raised black decklid spoiler, performance tires, unique front grill and rear valance, its own wheel designs, power cloth seats, and aluminum instrument panel finish. the GT Premium add many interior features including leather trimmed seats. Optional packages include the Black Accent Package, GT Performance Package, Carbon Sport Interior Package, and the new Ford Safe and Smart Package.

GT Performance
The 2021 GT Performance Package in two levels and follows the previous year. The base level GT Performance Package ads one of two unique wheels, front splitter, silver painted strut-tower brace, larger radiator, upsized rear sway bar, heavy-duty front springs, K-member brace, Brembo brakes, performance rear wing spoiler, engine spun aluminum instrument panel, gauge pack, and 3.73 (manual) / 3.55 (automatic) Torsen limited-slip differential. Level 2 has its own wheels; MagneRide damping system; track designed springs, sway bar, and tuning; unique front splitter and rear spoiler; and optional Recaro seats.

California Special
The 2021 Mustang California Special GT gets a new stripe offering in black and red. Available on the GT Premium, the California Special Package includes 19 inch machined face aluminum carbonized gray-painted wheels or 19 inch carbonized gray-painted aluminum wheels, California Special badge on the strut tower brace and rear panel, carbon hex aluminum instrument panel, floor mats with red contrast stitching and California Special script logo, Miko Suede door and seat inserts with red contrast stitching, performance rear wing (fastback only, delete on convertible), performance package front splitter, side scoop, side mid-body stripe, and unique front honeycomb grilles with GT/CS badge.

Mach 1
The Mach 1 returns for 2021 with a 480hp version of the 5.0L V8 engine. Based on the GT, the 2021 Mach 1 adds badges, a unique front fascia, 6-speed Tremec TR-3160 Manual Transmission from the GT350, transmission and differential coolers of the Shelby GT350, GT350/GT500 large rear wing (Swing), and exterior graphics to name a few.

Shelby Mustang
The 2021 Shelby Mustang follows the previous year with a 760h, 5.2L supercharged cross plane crack V8 under the unique hood with pins; and tons more inside and out. The Carbon Fiber Track Pack (previously known as the Golden Ticket), Technology Package, and Handling Package are all back. New is a Carbon Fiber Handling Package which includes new 20 inch black painted carbon fiber wheels, adjustable strut top mounts, catch can, gurney flap, splitter wickers, and wheel locking kit. New exterior paint colors are Grabber Yellow, Anitmatter Blue metallic, and Carbonized Gray metallic.

Saleen Mustang
The 2021 Saleen Mustang comes in three levels, the White Label now has 500hp, the Yellow Label has 745hp, and the Black Label is 800hp. New to 2021 is a redesign fo the Saleen front fascia, Saleen hood vents, Saleen b-pillar accent, Saleen side skirts with Saleen high gloss accent and Saleen high downforce rear differs with Saleen gloss accent. For the wheels the Saleen S-slotted rotors and brakes pads have been updated. There is also new optional Racing Heritage Stripes and Heritage Collection exterior paint colors combined with trim accent colors.

Roush Mustang
The 2021 Stage 3 Roush Mustang has 750hp under the hood and includes the Roush R9 Aero Body Kit is part of all three packages. Continuing from the previous year, optional additional packages include the exhaust and engine bay styling Competition Package, the brake and active exhaust Podium Package, the leather seat and gauge Sport Interior Package, the upgraded seat and pedal Premium Interior Package, and the leather and steering wheel Track Interior Package.
