The 1965, Mustang, A-code, 225hp (at 4800rpm), 289 cubic inch, 4 barrel, V8 engine with Cobra air filter and covers added later.
This is the sport deck option where the rear seat folds down adding some space to the trunk if you can get past the spare tire, gas tank filling pipe, and narrow entrance to the passenger compartment from the trunk.
The door data tag reads: 63A for fastback standard seat body style, 5 Twilight Turquoise exterior paint, 26 ordered in the Washington area, 22S assembled on the 22nd of May, 26 black interior seats, 1 3.00:1 rear axle ratio, and 6 automatic transmission.

This 289ci V8 was rated at 225 horsepower. It's original to the car including the Autolite 4100 carburetor and transmission.
This 65 has a black interior.
The five gauge instrument cluster in the dash was an option in 1965 along with the extra two gauges (tach and clock) on the column.

Poppy Red 1965 Mustang convertible owned by Josephine De Bono from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It has a 289 V8 engine and an automatic transmission. Josephine adds, "I bought 'Ruby' early this year from Redding in Northern California. Saw her on the Shasta Mustang Facebook page advertised for sale and fell in love straight away. Currently undergoing a full restoration."
