Check out this Black 1980 Cobra Mustang hatchback, it was our
Attitude Of The Week for May, 17, 2009. Its owner says,
I have owned the car since 1997. This 1980 Mustang Cobra represented the 1980 year in the 45 years of Mustang magazine. The 1980 Cobra package was patterned off the 1979 pace car model and came with dual sport mirrors, sport tuned exhaust with bright tailpipe extensions, forged metric aluminum wheels, special instrument cluster, 8000 rpm tachometer, and a 255ci, 4.2 liter, V8 engine. This car has optional rear quarter window louvers.
The front grille and front fascia of the 1980 Cobra Mustang was patterned after the 1979 Indianapolis Pace Car. It has the integral front spoiler with dual fog lamps.
The left side view of this Black 1980 Cobra Mustang really shows off those 6 spoke wheels called
forged metric aluminum wheels by Ford in 1980.

Nice interior shot of a 1980 Mustang Cobra. Check out the Cobra door and passenger side dash emblems.

Medium Blue Glow 1980 Mustang notchback owned by David from France! It has a 2.3L 4-cylinder turbo engine and an automatic. He resurrected it from a car cemetery in 2008 and painted it in 2009. He says he has a lot of fun with it.
This Medium Blue 1980 Mustang notchback has a blue vinyl top and blue interior. It's a triple-blue 1980 Mustang.
This is a notchback body style. The rear glass and trunk lid are separate. A hatchback was also offered in 1980 where the rear glass and trunk lid was combined.

The interior is blue. The seats are vinyl and cloth. The interior is spotless.
These fox body Mustangs have comfortable looking rear seats - compared to other years. The seat bottoms and backs are flat from side to side and appear to have a lot of padding.
Here is the instrument cluster. It has gauges for alternator output, coolant temperature, engine rpm, metric speedometer (km/h in white around the outside), oil pressure, and fuel level.
Bright Red 1980 Mustang Ghia notchback owned by Kent Roberts from Abbotsford, BC Canada. It has the optional white vinyl carriage top. Kent tells us,
"I picked this car up from the original owner in July 2010. The car is in mint and original condition. The car is powered by a 255 V8. The car did come with the 255 originally, but the engine grenaded in 1996 and was replaced with a rebuilt 255. This car is a west coast original, and is even equipped with its original windshield, the owners manuals, warranty cards, and all the service manuals. The carriage top is in excellent condition and the car is wearing 80% of its original red paint. Its a A/C delete car with cruise, power locks, tilt, premium sound system, and rear defogger."
Bright Red 1980 Mustang Ghia notchback with optional carriage top. The carriage top makes it look like a convertible.
Bright Red 1980 Mustang Ghia notchback, rear end view.
The 4.2L V8 was originally rated at 119 horsepower.
It's an AC delete car. I wonder if that compass on the dash is a Ford option. It has the same woodgrain as the dash.
The seats, door panels, and headliner are white.
White 1980 Mustang Cobra fastback owned by Denis Lépine from . This is our featured
Attitude Of The Week for the week starting March 16, 2014. Denis tells us more,
"I bought this car in 2008. The previous owner painted the Cobra white and installed a 302 cid. The original color was Pewter and original engine was the 255 cid. It looked good from 20 feet. Options: power brakes, power steering, sun roof, and AM/FM CD (not original). In the future I will do a full restoration on this Cobra." Denis also owns a
1967 Mustang convertible that was our
Attitude Of The Week back in April 2010.
