The is a 5.8 liter (or 351 cubic inch) V8 engine. It is the standard engine in the Saleen S-351. A supercharged version was available as an option.

These are black leather Recaro racing seats.

The dash in this Saleen S-351 has these special Saleen gauges. The speedometer goes to 200 miles per hour and a tach that red-lines at 5500 rpm.

Check out all the stuff in the center of the dash. A clock at the top, then the climate controls, the stereo cassette tape system, and a CD player.

This is a rare one! It's a Crystal White 1995 Cobra R coupe. Ford only made 250 Cobras in 1995. This is #145 of those 250. So, what is different on a Cobra R? How about the huge 5.8L (351 cubic inch) V8 under the hood! This engine is so big that the standard hood did not work. A special taller fiberglass hood was created. This baby was built for racing. It has a factory 20-gallon fuel cell, a engine oil cooler, and a power steering cooler. All Cobra R Mustangs were painted Crystal White with tan colored interiors.

Notice anything missing? Fog lights! Yes, they were left off at the factory to reduce weight. These cars were meant to be raced.

Take a look at this. It's a special C-code V8 built especially for the Cobra R. This engine is a 5.8L engine that pumps out 300 horsepower. It's a marine block with aluminum pistons, forged steel rods, GT-40 heads and special intake manifolds. This engine has a couple of modifications to the original configuration.

All 1995 Cobra Rs have this Saddle colored cloth interior. To save weight other components were deleted at the factory - air conditioning, radio, and the rear seat!

The top part of the dash and doors are black. Notice the blanking panel where the radio should be.

A close-up of the gauges in this 1995 Cobra R. Nothing out of the ordinary here - except the low gas tank. It would be hard to keep gas in the tank of this car.

Yes, the rear seat is deleted at the factory. Who races with backseat passengers anyway?
