(from page 12 of the 1998 Collection) Check it out! This magazine ad shows a Rio Red 1998 Mustang V6 coupe. Its a Gift Horse ad! It goes on to say, "Ford choice now makes it easier than ever to get the must Mustang for your money." It lists all the standard options you can get for $16,495; 15-inch polished aluminum wheels, power 4-wheel disc brakes, Securlock passive anti-theft system, power decklid release windows and door locks, air conditioning, 80-watt premium sound AM/FM stereo with cassette, CD player, tilt steering wheel, remote keyless entry system, 3.8L 150-horsepower V6 engine, and a 5-speed manual transmission.

(from page 4 of the 2000 Collection) We think this is a 2000 Mustang Cobra promotional card from Canada. In the US only 300, Performance Red, 385hp, Cobra R Mustangs were built. But this ad shows the standard 320hp Cobra was available in Crystal White, Ebony, Laser Red, Medium Atlantic Blue, Silver, and Mystic Gold (see the backside of this card).

(from page 9 of the 2000 Collection) Wow! Check out the new Mustang says the postcard that dealer sent out to previous and new potential owners of the 2000 Mustang.

(from page 11 of the 2001 Collection) This is the 2001 Mustang GT Bullitt hero promotional card. This car measures 8.5 by 11 inches and is folded to allow for 4 pages of print. Hero cards started with racing drivers and their cars and have been extended to promote sport cars from various manufacturers. This one features the first year of the Bullitt Mustang feature car which commemorates the 1968 fastback driven by Steve McQueen in the detective movie Bullitt, the scenes of which are shown at the top. In 2001, Highland Green was reserved only for this model; although the 2001 Bullitt also came in Black and True Blue. The original 1968 movie Bullitt Mustang was painted in 1968 Highland Green.

(from page 11 of the 2001 Collection) The first inside page of the 2001 Mustang GT Bullitt promotional card shows all three colors (dark highland green, true blue, and black). Highland Green is a Ford color that goes back to 1926 but in a lighter shade. The darker color came out in 1968. This page also references the significance of the car chase which featured two hit-men in a black 1968 Dodge Charger R/T 440 Magnum and Steve McQueen as Detective Lieutenant Frank Bullitt driving the modified 1968 Mustang. Its an amazing sequence, especially considering the actual speeds of over 110mph and McQueen doing most of the driving.

(from page 11 of the 2001 Collection) The second inside page of the 2001 Mustang GT Bullitt hero card shows the options of the Bullitt over the GT premium coupe. The standard 4.6L 2001 GT V8 engine is enhanced with a cast aluminum intake manifold, optimized alternator and pump pulley ratios, and high flow mufflers for increased power and sound. Other performance upgrades include better handing and brakes, as well as different rear quarter windows, side scoops, brushed aluminum fuel door, Bullitt badging, upgrade dash gauges, brushed aluminum interior accents, and dark charcoal leather trimmed seats. The Bullitt upgrade was a $3695 option over the premium GT.

(from page 22 of the 2007 Collection) This Saleen promotional pamphlet reads, "Make a difference in your neighborhood. Your next-door neighbor will covet this car. He will curse under his breath every time the roar of its V8 engine trips his car alarm. Pray for rain when he sees you out waxing it. Reprimand his teenage son for wishing they had one. Then explain to him how no one need to own a car with 465 horsepower. Each day he will grow to hate it as much as you grow to love it. Until the day you ask him to go for a ride. Then. He will want to be your best friend. Invite you to cookouts. And scold the other neighbors for having misunderstood you.
