This special performance model will fill the gap in the Mach 1 / GT500 expected 2024 Mustang lineup. Under the hood is the Coyote 5.0-liter V-8 with dual throttle bodies and performance connecting rods. Naturally aspirated, this configuration reaches 500hp. Outside the front grille and fascia is unique as well as the smoked headlamp covers, fixed rear wing, rear diffusers, quad tipped tailpipes, badges, and a lot more. The blue Brembo brakes are part of the Dark Horse Appearance package which includes Deep Indigo Blue seats.

There is a striped down version; the Dark Horse S, for weekend racing with a roll cage, race seat with safety belts, race steering wheel, FIA-certified safety items, and a lot more. A track only, Dark Horse R has seam welding, increased range fuel cell and Ford Performance Parts wheels all approved for serious racing.
The 2024 Mustang Dark Horse is the first new Mustang performance series in 21 years according to Ford. The last being the Mustang Bullitt series introduced in 2001. The 5.0L V8 has a dual throttle-body intake design connected to the open nostrils in the front grille. Other performance/handling features include brake cooling NACA ducts, auxiliary engine oil cooler, rear axle cooler, lighter weight but improved cooling radiator, more powerful cooling fans, unique chassis tuning, larger rear sway bars, heavy duty front prints, 19 inch Brembo front 6 piston brakes with 13.9 inch rotors, a new light weight Ford Performance strut tower black and K-brace, Horse rear differential, and more...
Inside the 2024 Dark Horse Mustang has the new seventh-generation cockpit with 12.4 inch digital instrument cluster screen flowing into a 13.2 inch center dash screen with Ford SYNC. Blue stitching on the door, seat, shift boot and center console is standard but can be added to an optional Mustang Dark Horse Appearance Pack which includes Deep Indigo Blue seats. Interior dash trim is all in a dark metallic gloss black instead of bright silver. Also part of the Appearance Pack is Notorious Blue Brembo brakes.
