1979 Bright Red 1979 Mustang hatchback, right side view with aftermarket wheels.
Right front view of a 1979 Mustang hatchback in its original Bright Red exterior paint.

This 1979 Mustang hatchback has its original red and black cloth with red vinyl trim seats.
Nice wood grain trim on the dash. No air conditioning in this car, but it has a nice original radio.
This was called houndstooth upholstery.
Here is a view through the back. They didn't put the fabric on the rear seat very straight.
This 1979, Ford, Mustang, Z-code, 2.8 liter, 6-cylinder engine has 21K miles on it. This was an optional engine (an upgrade to the 88hp 2.3L 4-cylinder). This one was originally rated at 104hp (at 3600rpm).
Light Chamois 1971 Mustang coupe with a tan vinyl top and a 5.0L engine.
Light Chamois 1971 Mustang coupe, front end view. Mustangs had the largest attendance at the 2009 All Ford show at Uftring Ford in East Peoria, Illinois. I bet there were about 100 of them present.

I spotted this Pewter 1979 Mustang Indianapolis 500 Pace Car at the 2010 Mustang and Ford car show at Uftring Ford in East Peoria, Illinois. This is the first time I've seen one of these in person. The graphics on this car are pretty neat in person.
The side of the car says, "Official Pace Car, 53rd Annual Indianapolis 500 mile race May 27, 1979". Check out the four gray horses in front of the wording.
The hood is painted mostly flat black. Check out the huge "Mustang" letters on each side.
The engine has some modifications. The Turbo 4-cylinder or this V8 were available with the Pace Car option.
The interior is black with dark gray cloth seats.
The seat backs have these Indianapolis Motor Speedway graphics sown on. Check out the wild rear seat inserts!
Bright Yellow 1979 Cobra Mustang hatchback with good looking, painted, aftermarket wheels. The 1979 Cobra Mustang options package was originally $1179 and included the 2.3 liter, turbo-charged, four cylinder; hood scoop; forged metric aluminum wheels with three main wide slotted spokes(replaced with other wheels on this car); blacked out window trim, body side and bumper trim, and lower body; sport mirrors, color keyed rear quarter window louver panels; tachometer and instrument cluster panel; and sport tuned exhaust with bright tailpipe tips. The hood graphics was an additional $78.
In this view you can see the hood Cobra graphics and rear window louvers or sport slats. Usually the rear spoiler was color-coded to match the body.
The 1979 Cobra came standard with the W-code, 2.3L 130hp 4-cylinder Turbo engine or the optional F-code 5.0L 134 to 143hp (California emissions or not) V8. This appears to be the 5.0 liter V8 engine.
