View of the 1968, Ford, Mustang, J-code, 302 cubic inch, 4 barrel, V8 engine with aftermarket cobra air cleaner and valve covers. There is also a nice Lime Gold 1968 GT/CS model on the air cleaner.

This custom 1968 California Special Mustang GT was at the 2010 Mustang Roundup car show in Bellevue, Washington. This GT/CS was originally ordered Wimbledon White with a black vinyl top, but now wears a bright yellow exterior paint, custom wheels, and custom engine.
The engine has been customized including yellow block paint. Originally this car had a T-code, 200ci, 6-cylinder engine.
Here is were that custom yellow really looks great.
This is an authentic 1968 Limited Edition 'Gold Nugget Special'
promotional car for the Pacific Northwest dealerships. One of only 481
actually produced of the scheduled 525 to be offered through the
promotion. The Golden Nugget Mustang has a DSO# 741111 on the door
data plate, with the 1111 indicating the Special Order Unit as such.
It was a promotion that was offered at no additional charge, however
it could not be ordered. According to the promotion details and first
hand information from an original owner, each Ford Dealership in the
Pacific Northwest was to receive one Gold Nugget Special and the first
person who came in wanting to by it was the lucky person. It was sold
with a custom commemorative dash plaque with the original purchaser's
name and a simulated gold nugget affixed. All of the Gold Nugget
Mustangs were only available in the Coupe model, with Sunlit Gold
exterior paint, hood blackout stripes, and a black vinyl top with
either black or nugget gold interior. They were produced with varying
combinations of engines, transmissions and other available options.
This particular Gold Nugget Mustang has the original 200ci inline 6cyl
engine and 3spd manual transmission. It runs and drives excellent and
was driven on a 1200 mile road trip earlier this year with no issues.
It is currently driven several times a month and never has any issues
starting right up. It is virtually a rust free car and besides needing
paint it needs little else to be a great driver/show car. The interior
is in nearly perfect condition. Here is your chance to get a truely
limited production Mustang. There is a Gold Nugget Registry that has
been formed and to date less than two dozen have been confirmed to
still be in existence with less than a dozen actually registered. The
well known California Special had a production run of more than 4100
being built. The Gold Nugget Special was equal to approximately 10% of
that total making it a more unique and rare Mustang than the
California Special. I am asking 6250.00 and I may consider partial
trades. If you're looking for something different and special, this is
the Mustang for you. Feel free to email or call any time. Thanks, Jeff

Here is a close-up view of the door showing off the Sunlit Gold exterior paint and a bit of the black side C-stripe.
Here is the door data tag which confirms this car is a Golden Nugget Special. The special order number 1111
after the order district code of 74
for Seattle was reserved for this special promotion. The promotion featured the 289 cubic inch 2V V8 engine, C4 automatic transmission, louvered hood, black stripes, black vinyl top, black interior, and featured unique golden plaques on the dashboard with the original owner's name engraved. 525 Golden Nugget Limited Edition Mustangs were offered.
This Candy Apple Red 1968 Shelby GT-500KR fastback was on display at the 2010 Mustang & Ford card show at Uftring Ford in East Peoria, Illinois. It had a tan interior and 428ci engine.

Nice. This GT-500KR has chrome exhaust and lots of scoops on the side.
The fastback model had a huge rear window.
On the front fender is this 428 Cobra Jet emblem and the GT-500KR rocker decals.
The sides had these quarter window scoops and scoops in front of the wheels. These even had a roll bar installed at the factory. The racing harness was attached to the roll bar.
Another shot of the side scoops.
The engine is a 428 Cobra Jet.
